Daily Grand is Canada's national for-life lottery. In B.C. it's run by the people who run every other lottery here — the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) is a provincial Crown corporation, established on 25 October 1984. It conducts and manages lottery, casino and other gaming on behalf of the Province of British Columbia. Its head office is at 74 West Seymour Street, Kamloops, BC, V2C 1E2, Canada.
Daily Grand itself is a national game. The numbers, the prize structure and the draw schedule are coordinated across provinces by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC). In B.C., supplemental conditions set by BCLC apply on top of the national game rules. Where the two ever disagree, the national ILC conditions take precedence.
Gaming in British Columbia operates under the Gaming Control Act (B.C.). BCLC runs the games; oversight sits with the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO), which monitors how gaming is conducted in the province. Play is restricted to B.C. residents who are 19 or older and located in the province.
Net proceeds from B.C. lottery and gaming go back to the province. They help fund community programs, health care and other public services, and a share supports the charitable and community groups that host gaming in their areas. The point of the model is simple: gaming revenue stays in B.C. and supports B.C.
